precancers and cancers

Precancers often appear as sensitive red, scaly rough spots. Skin cancers can grow slowly over time or appear suddenly. They may be growths that change rapidly, hurt, bleed and just don’t go away. If you have a suspicious lesion, please schedule an appointment for evaluation.

how are precancers and cancers treated?

Precancers can be treated with topical medications, cryosurgery, chemical peels and light treatments. The ideal treatment for skin cancer will depend on many factors including the type of cancer, microscopic characteristics, location on the body, size and medical history. Small, less aggressive cancers can be treated with electrodessication and curate (aka scape and burn or edc), cryosurgery, creams or excision. Larger lesions or more sensitive sites may require Mohs surgery. More aggressive lesions may require referral to oncology or radiation.
